Good vision involves more than just 20/20 eyesight or "seeing clearly." Some visual conditions, hand-eye-body coordination problems, and visual perception difficulties cannot be treated adequately with just glasses, contact lenses, or surgery and are best resolved through a program of Vision Therapy. Our practice specializes in vision therapy treatment programs for a wide variety of conditions.
We have the ability to provide high quality, customized glasses lenses for your individual prescription and vision needs. Our highly qualified optician and staff are able to adjust and fit your glasses to you for extended comfort and vision.
Our professionals can help fit you into a pair of lenses that is just right for you. We are experts in fitting contact lenses and can handle the most specialized needs. Whether rigid or soft lenses, we are experienced in handling the most difficult of prescriptions.
If you have allergies or dry eye, then you know allergies can be particularly annoying to contact lens wearers. In the past many people had to quit wearing their lenses during the allergy season or when experiencing dry eye symptoms. However, new lens materials and allergy medications have made it possible for these people to eliminate the burning, itching, and scratching symptoms associated with allergies. Prescription medications such as Patanol and Restasis are amazingly effective and safe. Let us know when you come in for your appointment if you have special allergy needs and we will be happy to help you.
A flap is surgically cut in the cornea and gently folded back. An Excimer Laser is used to reshape the cornea into a flatter shape (this is much like a contact lens corrects vision by forming a new shape on the cornea). The flap is then put back in place, acting like a natural bandage. The healing process is quick and the discomfort level is quite low.
People will often say that they did not feel anything, and could see well the very first day. Most people have improved vision in 24-48 hours. but it must be noted that each person will heal at a different rate. Vision, although greatly improved immediately after surgery, often continues to improve for some weeks, even months. After the procedure, our unsurpassed post-op care involves monitoring your eyes and adjust your medication for the best possible results.

What To Expect
After completing our patient information form (available online) our comprehensive eye examinations will evaluate your visual skills and abilities while carefully checking for early indicators of any potential eye disorders or diseases. You will leave our office confident in knowing the appropriate treatment has been prescribed, whether it's lenses, contacts, medication, or vision therapy.
Your electronic medical eye records will be kept safely on file at the office should you ever need to reference them.
One of the newer technologies you will find in our office is the optomap Retinal Exam, which is used to get an ultra-widefield view of the retina (the back of the eye). Eye exams generally include a look at the front of the eye to evaluate health and prescription changes, but a thorough screening of the retina is critical to verify that your eye is completely healthy.
Here is a brief video introduction to this incredible advancement in eye care technology.
In addition to serving all your child's vision needs, we also offer comprehensive eye exams for infants aged 6-12 months. Eye and vision problems in infants can cause developmental delays, so it is imperative to detect issues as early as possible.
